I recently blogged about a Wedding gift I created to elegantly give gift cards to the happy couple. They're family and I knew they wanted cash to save up for a larger home more than towels or pans. Our booklet of gift cards was the next best thing (in my opinion).
ANYHOO... about a week later, I had an occasion to be a part of another group gift. This time it was from our Preschool Board to aAngelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13336003619400827055noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2187208048765353169.post-2939766863151973332014-03-18T21:25:00.001-07:002014-03-18T21:25:12.802-07:00A Wedding Gift- Gift Card Giving Can Be UniqueMy husband's cousin got married last summer and like many modern couples, they lived together for awhile beforehand. While they did create a registry our family decided to pool our resources and give the second most appreciated gift (1st being CASH), gift cards. Being ME, we couldn't just stick cards in an envelope and hand it over.. I had to Pretty it up!!

Last year (yes, I know I'm a bad blogger) my BFF Sarah wanted to host a retirement party for her boss Jeanie. This was a happy occasion and wanted the party to convey just that. As you know, EVERYTHING starts with the invite.
Here's the invite I created. The colors popped and any mention of tequila on an invite is sure to peak interest. :) I changed her name and personal info but Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13336003619400827055noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2187208048765353169.post-86181724420085625492014-03-18T15:15:00.000-07:002014-03-18T15:16:06.120-07:00Do You Wanna Build a Snowman? Disney's FROZENIf your kids are anything like mine, you've heard the songs OVER and OVER.. can't say I mind on this one. Disney's FROZEN has quickly become a family favorite. Recently I hosted a FROZEN play date at my house for a few friends.
Thinking ahead I saved some silver garland and snowflakes from Christmas to use. I cut out the word FROZEN in a similar font using my Cricut.

I was so sad when I realized I couldn't attend our local MOMS Club Annual Mother's Day Tea and Fundraiser this year. There isn't much tea drinking these days.. just great food and drinks with my mommy friends that I don't see on a regular basis but still really value our friendships... Alas, I had family plans that day but Park Talk Printables donated the decor. When I first met my husband I swear we were always playing some form of Poker... I have such great memories of those nights. Then we started a family and late nights were no longer filled with cards and friends, but family movie nights, and an early kiddo bedtime. Our house is too small too host so a few months ago I convinced a friend to invite us over.

Last summer I was asked to help a friend with her little guy's 4th birthday. Like LOTS of little boys I know, he was infatuated with trains. I have to admit, after attending his party at Travel Town in Los Angeles... so was I!
What a great place to take the kids. The party was held on a private train car. All guests got to go on a train ride around the property and of course the Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13336003619400827055noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2187208048765353169.post-59264449051314897482013-05-25T11:13:00.000-07:002013-05-25T11:13:40.191-07:00Mother's Tea 2012Every year our MOMS Club plans a Mother's Day Tea and Fundraiser. 2012 was my 2nd year planning the decor for the party.
The theme for 2012 was Moms Who Play Together, Grow Together.
It all started with the design Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13336003619400827055noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2187208048765353169.post-56983123824347646872013-05-25T10:38:00.001-07:002013-05-25T10:38:34.599-07:00Party FavorsParty Favors are always better when they have a personal meaning to the host/hostess. I thought I'd share some tips I discovered while making cookies for various events and a way to make ANY treats look special.
I really adore thick cookies.. even if they aren't big, they seem more luxurious than a thin brown cookie you had to scrape off the pan, that are about to crumble at any moment.

Not complaining because we have fun at each and every one...we have MOMS Club party, a preschool hunt, the city's Eggstravaganza, and this year we were invited to a friend's family celebration. I didn't want to attend empty handed and I really wanted to use my new cake pop stand so this is what I created. Peeps on a stick!

Back in March my super great friend Sarah's husband was going to celebrate his 40th birthday. He's such a fun outgoing guy and she wanted to do something special for such an important milestone.
She came up with a bowling party.. mind you, this was no ordinary bowling party! In January her mom contacted me to help with decor for her baby shower. I was so excited to be a part of her day. Her thought was to have a surprise hike on a trail that they visit near their house fairly often. Invited guests would be asked to arrive earlier in the morning, and be assigned to stations along the hike.
I thought the idea was great and off we were! The focus of the party was of course her mom, but Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13336003619400827055noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2187208048765353169.post-14466000431788908452012-02-28T18:21:00.000-08:002012-02-28T18:21:26.489-08:00Happy Healthy 60th Birthday Surprise PartyOn Sunday I helped put together a great surprise party for my girlfriend Sarah's, mom's 60th birthday.
Despite the threat of a windy day in the morning, the weather was perfect for a hike and lunch afterwards at Sarah's house.
Guests with mimosas in hand, met Susie and her family at six different stations as they walked along a local trail. This party was a true labor of LOVE. I worked on this party for months and months. It was all I could think (and dream) about for a long time.
My girlfriend Sarah and I have girls that were born on the same day. Our girls see each other as often as we can get together and one of their favorite things to do is go to Underwood Family Farms.
She looked into having a party at Underwood Farms in Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13336003619400827055noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2187208048765353169.post-34107741300187851722012-01-24T14:30:00.000-08:002012-01-24T14:30:13.399-08:00She's About to POP- Baby ShowerIn the beginning of January one of my fellow MOMS Club of Camarillo East mommies was about to give birth to her third little guy. Another mom was sweet to throw her a shower and asked for my help with the decor.
I fell in love with the "She's About to POP" theme and went with it! Because she was having a boy we went with blue and green colors.
I started out by creating a circle pattern Angelahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13336003619400827055noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2187208048765353169.post-70986897218826899672012-01-24T13:39:00.000-08:002012-01-24T13:39:31.966-08:00Minnie Mouse PartyI just love Mickey and Minnie themed birthday parties. My daughter's friend was having her third birthday at a local indoor play place back in December. I helped out by making water bottle labels and a sign but as you can see, the mommy did a great job with decor without my help.
She used the same cake lady we used for the girls' farm party and it turned out great!
